Information We Collect
Cook Club may collect the following information when you use the app:
- Account details such as name, email address, user ID, username, profile details, and profile image.
- Authentication information from Apple or Google when you choose those sign-in methods, such as the account identifier and profile information they share with Cook Club.
- User content such as recipes, recipe images, review text and images, comments, collections, follows, meal plans, and shopping lists.
- Subscription status, entitlement information, and related purchase identifiers from Apple, Google, and Adapty. Cook Club does not receive your full payment card details.
- Device push tokens used to send notifications you enable.
- Diagnostics, server logs, request metadata, and app or device information used to operate, secure, debug, and improve Cook Club.
How We Use Information
- Provide accounts, authentication, recipe storage, meal planning, shopping lists, social features, comments, reviews, and notifications.
- Process recipe imports, AI-assisted recipe features, and image uploads.
- Manage subscriptions and access to paid features.
- Respond to support, privacy, safety, moderation, and account deletion requests.
- Protect Cook Club from abuse, spam, security incidents, and policy violations.
- Maintain and improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
Service Providers and Processors
Cook Club uses third-party providers to run the service. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to Cook Club.
- Cloudflare for hosting, Workers, routing, logs, and image/object storage.
- Neon/Postgres for database hosting.
- Expo for app services, push notifications, and app delivery tooling.
- Apple and Google for authentication, app distribution, and subscription platform services.
- Adapty for subscription status and entitlement management.
- Resend for transactional email such as verification and support-related email.
- Analytics or crash reporting tools, if added later, will be disclosed in this policy before production use.
Sharing
Cook Club does not sell your personal information. Some profile, recipe, review, image, comment, follow, and activity information may be visible to other Cook Club users when you use social or shared features. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate abuse or security incidents.
Security
Cook Club uses encryption in transit for public app and website traffic. Access to production systems is limited to the people and services that need it to operate Cook Club. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but Cook Club is designed to reduce unnecessary data exposure.
Retention and Deletion
Cook Club keeps account information and user content while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account in the app from Settings > Delete Account, or request deletion by emailing help@cookclub.app.
After account deletion, Cook Club deletes or de-identifies account data and user content unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute, backup, tax, accounting, or payment/subscription record reasons. Deleting your Cook Club account does not cancel Apple or Google subscriptions.
Children
Cook Club is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Cook Club, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes
Cook Club may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The latest version will always be available at cookclub.app/privacy.
